Manchester United and Valencia are both qualified ahead of the group's final match on Tuesday but the two teams are still in the race to finish top of the group. Manchester United have a three-point advantage over Valencia so they will have to grab a draw in order to secure the top spot.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the club have opened talks with Valencia over striker David Villa, while he also admitted that the Spanish champions will move for Cesc Fabregas if he wants to return to Camp Nou.

Valencia will meet German side Schalke 04 on Tuesday in the first leg of the first Champions League knockout round. Both teams earned narrow victories in the league last weekend, Schalke beat Freiburg 1-0 at home while Valencia beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 away.

Villa leaves Valencia, but not without a big payout. Barca have splashed a whopping €40 million on the 28 year old who is just 6 goals shy of Raul Spanish International scoring record. The striker has been linked to the club for a while now along with Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas but do you think he was worth that or are Valencia lucky to cash in now?

League leaders Barcelona will travel to meet third placed Valencia on Wednesday in what will be a very important game for both sides. Barcelona have extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points after beating Mallorca 3-0 on Saturday while Valencia beat Bilbao 2-1 away to consolidate their third position in the rankings.
