36-year old defender Sol Campbell just joined Newcastle United and expressed his view on the national team: "It doesn't matter where you are at with your age, if you are fit and you are strong and you are physically there and you want it, then you have got the experience so I think there should be no problem really." Asked if he still had what it takes to play for England again, Campbell added: "I think last season for sure. I have still got it. I still have the passion, the fire in my belly. I want to win. But you just can't do anything about it anymore.

Ninth placed Newcastle will meet fifth placed Tottenham on Saturday and both teams are coming from draws recorded last week: Tottenham held Manchester United to a goalless draw at White Hart Lane while Newcastle grabbed a 1-1 derby draw against Sunderland. New signing Steven Pienaar might make his debut for Tottenham.

Second placed Arsenal will meet 10th placed Newcastle at St. James' Park on Saturday. The Gunners have won their last six competitive games while Newcastle have not won in the last four games, including a shocking 3-1 defeat at the hands of Stevenage in the FA Cup. A win is a must for Arsenal if they want to keep pace with leaders Manchester United but Newcastle will surely give their best to get out of the bad patch.

Coming from two consecutive Premier League defeats defending champions Chelsea will travel to Newcastle on Sunday in an attempt to bounce back and remain top of the table. Newly-promoted Newcastle are also coming from a poor result last weekend, a 5-1 thrashing at Bolton.

The battle of the newly-promoted team will see Newcastle visiting West Brom on Sunday in a game that is very important for both sides. The two promoted teams enjoyed a good start to the season and after 15 games Newcasle are 9th in the table while West Brom are 12th, tied on 19 points. Whoever wins this one will have a stronger position in the top 10 while the losing side might slide down towards the relegation zone.

Following the 3-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion last Sunday Newcastle have parted company with manager Chris Hughton, the man who drove the team back to the Premier League. Newcastle are in 11th spot after 16 games as they recorded 5 wins, 4 draws and seven losses.
