| Distressed Qualifying matches |

| One-Sided Squad |
Argentina have Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez, hitman Diego Milito to lead the line, Diego Maradona as coach, and the world to conquer. Argentina might possess these qualities, but certainly do not look like it heading into the tournament.

Vote for: Is the South African team goal bonus outrageous?
south africa | May 5th, 2010 | by Kevin Walsh

| It's playing for your country. You shouldn't need incentives. |

| I wonder do they get charged that for every goal they concede. |

| They deserve the cash. It's a hard job. |
It has been reported that the South African Football Association will pay 1 million rand, the equivalent to over 86,000 pounds for every goal they score during the World Cup. That is quite an incentive for the host nation's team but is it too much, too little or generally taking away from the pride of playing for one's nation?

world cup | May 24th, 2010 | by Brandon
South Africa began their fourth and final training camp ahead of the World Cup. They'll get plenty of practice to fine tune their goalscoring skills. South Africa will play five friendlies before their June 11 tournament opener, all at World Cup match or training venues. They face China (Nelspruit, May 16), Bulgaria (Soccer City, Johannesburg, May 24), Columbia (Pretoria, May 27) Thailand (Cape Town, May 31) and Denmark (Orlando Stadium, Johannesburg, June 5). There is also talk that SAFA officials are trying to organise a friendly match against Brazil at the Orlando Stadium on either June 2 or June 7.

Vote for: Should William Gallas be a part of the French team to the World Cup?
world cup | May 17th, 2010 | by Brandon
France coach Raymond Domenech has all but confirmed his final 23 for the World Cup finals, cutting his initial 30-man squad down by six with the only remaining question mark over the fitness of William Gallas. Gallas has only played once for Arsenal since February, and he again broke down in the first half of the Champions League clash with Barcelona as he attempted a comeback. Marc Planus of Bordeaux is retained in case Gallas fails to make it to South Africa.
