The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be the 19th FIFA World Cup, the premier international football tournament, scheduled to take place in South Africa. This will be the first time that the tournament has been hosted by an African nation.

Euro 2008 winner Marcos Senna has been left out of Spain's final 23-man squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. the team boss has cited poor performance by the Brazilian-born midfielder while he played for Villarreal in the Primera Liga this season.

No way, they would be lucky to get out of the group.

France have been handed a pretty tough Group A with host nation South Africa, Uruguay and Mexico. Is their talent enough to push them all the way to the final?

Japan's final game on home soil prior to the World Cup finals ended in a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of South Korea on Monday evening. Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung (with a new haircut) scored with a fine effort from the edge of the penalty area after six minutes and Monaco forward Park Chu-young added a second with a late spot-kick.

England needed two late own goals from Japan defenders Marcus Tanaka and Yuji Nakazawa to gain victory in their final World Cup warm-up match in Graz. England scraped to victory. If they had outplayed Japan and benefited from two own-goals, it would be a different story.

There are plenty players to replace him.

Arjen Robben is set to rejoin the Dutch squad ahead of their first World Cup opener in a few days. He has had a wonderful season in Germany and in Europe with Bayern Munich but picked up a knock against Hungary in a friendly. The physio thinks he is ready but is it essential to the Dutch's progress that he is indeed healthy?
