Serie A leaders AC Milan will travel to Sampdoria on Saturday in an attempt to grab the three points and remain top of the table. Sampdoria got a good away win at Lecce last weekend and climbed up in 8th place while AC Milan got a narrow home win over Fiorentina. AC Milan continued their good form into the Champions League where a 2-0 away win at Auxerre booked their passage to the next round.
The classic derby of the city of Genoa will take place on Sunday with both sides lying in mid-table before the big game: Sampdoria are in 8th place while Genoa sit 10th. Both teams lost their games last weekend, Genoa were beaten at home by Napoli while Sampdoria were beaten away by lowly Brescia.

Manchester United's Italian striker Federico Macheda has agreed on a loan deal that will see him playing for Serie A side Sampdoria until the end of the season. He said that he hopes to gain more experience and return to Manchester as a better player next summer: "In Manchester, there was too much competition.
