Struggling Roma will have a chance to redeem themselves on Saturday when they will meet second placed Napoli at Olimpico. Last week Roma were beaten 5-3 at Inter while Napoli continued their title chase with a quick 2-0 win against Cesena. Napoli are just three points behind leaders AC Milan while Roma slid down in 7th place, 10 points behind the leaders.

Alberto Aquilani arrived from Roma to Anfield with high hopes and a rather dismal haircut. The only thing that's changed is the hopes, they've been curtailed with injuries, poor results and an overall poor season. What do you think of his stay on Anfield so far?

Italian side AS Roma will meet Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League first knockout round. Roma suffered an important defeat at home last weekend as they were beaten 2-0 by Napoli but they might have a slight advantage over Shakhtar who played their last official game against Braga in the Champions League last December. The Ukrainian league will re-start in March after a long winter break.

Inter Milan clinched the first trophy of a potential treble-winning campaign with a lone Diego Milito strike against Roma. Milito's 40th minute goal handed the Nerazzurri their sixth Coppa Italia, the first under coach Jose Mourinho.

Shakhtar pulled off a surprising result in the first leg by winning 3-2 so most likely Roma will have to win by two goals in Donetsk to qualify. In the meantime Roma sacked coach Claudio Ranieri and replaced him with former player Vincenzo Montella and the results have improved as the Giallorossi are unbeaten in the last three league games.

The race for the Serie A title is very close this season with three clubs still in with chances. Inter Milan lead the way, however their city rivals, AC, are just a few points behind with Roma also in the mix.

Francesco Totti may have missed out on being named in Italy's preliminary World Cup squad, club coach Claudio Ranieri intimated on Saturday. Roma striker Totti had been considering coming out of international retirement for the June 11-July 11 tournament in South Africa but media reports have said coach Marcello Lippi has decided against recalling him and has informed the club.

The Italian capital derby will take place on Sunday as fierce rivals Roma and Lazio will meet for the third time this season. Roma have won the previous two encounters, 2-0 in the league and 2-1 in the Italian cup, so Lazio will be keen on getting revenge. Roma are coming from a severe Champions League defeat, 3-0 at the hands of Shakhtar Donetsk and are currently 6th in the league while Lazio beat Palerom 2-0 last week and are in 4th place in the Serie A.
