Questions and AnswersVote for: Should Roman Abramovich push Pompey's debt and allow it to purchase new players?
premiere league | Jan 17th, 2010 | by Editor

| Yes. He should help Portsmouth out. |

| No. A deal is a deal, and Pompey need to pay him back, no matter how tough their situation is. |

| Pompey should be allowed to purchase players without getting Chelsea's approval. |
Portsmouth has many debts to other teams for past transfers (Arsenal, Rennes, Chelsea) and according to Premiere League rules, the debts must be paid before Pompey can purchase new players. Unless the owed teams give up, or postpone the debt. Which is what Pompey is trying to do, and has already secured Aresnal's and Rennes' agreements. Now it needs Chelsea.

portsmouth | Mar 8th, 2010 | by Brandon
Pompey must make a case to the FA in order to receive their cash rewards for advancing in the competition, but there are no plans to kick them out of the tournament. According to rule 5(f), if a club "becomes subject to an insolvency event", the FA "will then decide whether to allow that club to continue to compete", with administration listed among the insolvency events. source

Vote for: Should Portsmouth be allowed to play in the Europa League next season?
portsmouth | Apr 13th, 2010 | by Brandon
Portsmouth's administrator Andrew Andronikou said: "Since Sunday we have been scoping out what we can do and trawling through legalities. I believe that we will satisfy all the criteria. We should be in a CVA (company voluntary arrangement) by the deadline, all debts will have been sorted out and arrangements made with the football creditors. We should tick all the boxes. In terms of sport ethics, I think the club has had its medicine, has been taught its lesson and should be allowed to go forward and preventing them from playing in the Europa League would be wrong."
