Arsenal have confirmed that they have approached Fulham and Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer. The keeper situation at the club is pretty dismal and they are looking to rectify that for the upcoming season. A cross town move for Schwarzer probably won't cost too much as the 37 year old will demand nowhere near what William Gallas is expecting. Is the netminder worth the trouble or should Wenger look elsewhere?

Frustrated manager Aussie Pim Verbeek blamed the problem on Scotsman Gordon Strachan for playing the youngster and administrating shots on a gamely basis.
