Vote for: Do you think, like Fernando Torres, that failure of Liverpool in the Premier League is because of injuries and the sale of important players?

no making excuses
no, he's just making excuses

"There have been various important factors, like the fact that we were so far off the top of the table so quickly," Torres said. "That killed us psychologically and has stopped us changing the situation. After that, injuries hit us pretty hard and we have felt that a lot... After a good season last year, circumstances dictated we had to sell players and everything got messed up. The sale of Alvaro Arbeloa, Sami Hyypia and Xabi Alonso was an important loss. Alvaro was a player who did a vital job for us and his flexibility was a huge bonus."

Come on...I'll leave...You just have to pay me!

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has finally hinted at his departure from Anfield. The Spaniard felt a lack of support from the club has made him re-think his options. Is it coincidental that these thoughts have surfaced just as Juventus has expressed interest or is Rafa's real concern with tonight's Europa League clash with Athletico, like he says?

He should be playing, Roy might have forgotten all about him.

The Denmark international returned to the side on New Year's Day following a three-month absence with a calf injury but, having been overlooked by Hodgson earlier in the season, he fears for his prospects under the current manager. Here's what he said in a Danish newspaper: "I still have three years left on my contract with Liverpool but it's not me who decides if I'm playing. If I'm not playing and I'm not injured I have no reason to be here."

Liverpool could be on the slippery slope that tore Leed United apart not long ago. With money now being a huge issue and Benitez departure appearing to be but a expensive idea; is it possible that the clubs will soon share more in common than one might think?
