Adam Johnson was only playing Championship football a few months ago but is now with Manchester City playing at the highest level in English football. Could he possibly make the England squad and fill the vacuum left by David Beckham?

Birmingham have performed well above any of the pundits expectations this season and still harbour a hope for a European Football in their first season in the Premier League. It all comes back to a sturdy defence and Roger Johnson arriving from Cardiff City for £5m has helped, perhaps their wisest move of the transfer market?

England beat Switzerland 3-1 in Basel to maintain their 100% record in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Wayne Rooney scored the opening goal while substitutes Adam Johnson and Darren Bent added another couple to make sure of the win.

Adam Johnson played himself into the spotlight at Manchester City and England boss Fabio Capello looks like he's going to give him a chance to play at the World Cup. Capello said: "Adam Johnson has caught my eye this season. He's come up from the Championship at Middlesbrough, where he played in a different position, and he's done well with Manchester City."

Referee Martin Atkinson was at the center of controversy after his decision to award Villa a last minute penalty. After the game defender and red card recipient Johnson called Atkinson a disgrace and insisted the game was too big for him. Should he have kept his mouth shut or should player's be allowed to vent their frustration in these situations?
