Second placed Arsenal will be looking to add another three points to their tally on Wednesday after grabbing a solid 3-1 derby win over Chelsea last night. Wigan also grabbed an important result on Sunday as they beat Wolves 2-1 away from home in a fierce relegation battle.

Second placed Arsenal will meet 10th placed Newcastle at St. James' Park on Saturday. The Gunners have won their last six competitive games while Newcastle have not won in the last four games, including a shocking 3-1 defeat at the hands of Stevenage in the FA Cup. A win is a must for Arsenal if they want to keep pace with leaders Manchester United but Newcastle will surely give their best to get out of the bad patch.

Cesc Fabregas has placed his future in the hands of Arsene Wenger and says he will not let his possible transfer to Barcelona distract him from his World Cup campaign with Spain. "I will only say one thing, I have great respect for Arsene Wenger, for Arsenal Football Club and for the Arsenal fans," Fabregas said in a press conference. "Sometimes not even in my house have I felt more loved than I have at Arsenal. "He told me to concentrate on my football, to concentrate on the World Cup. He told me to leave it in his hands and he will deal with whatever happens for my future. That is what I'm doing: concentrate on my football."

Arsenal remained top of the group table after getting beaten at Shakhtar Donetsk but they are tied on 9 points with the Ukrainian side while Braga won both games against Partizan Belgrade and sit third with 6 points. In the previous game between the two sides Arsenal demolished Braga 6-0 at the Emirates.

Birmingham and Arsenal will meet on Saturday in the Blues' second consecutive big home fixture. The last game saw Birmingham snatching a point against Manchester United and the Blues are just above the drop zone in 17th place. Arsenal were held to a draw at Wigan yesterday despite leading 2-1 and having a numerical advantage but the Gunners remain in third spot, just two points behind Manchester United and Manchester City.
