Manchester United failed to upstage Glasgow Rangers at Old Trafford in their Champions League group debut game. Sir Alex Feruson said that "we didn't test their goalkeeper at all, apart from a couple of shots straight at him. It was a really difficult night."

Glasgow Rangers hold an impressive four points in two matches in the Champions League Group C after holding to a draw at Old Trafford and beating Bursaspor. Valencia started with a win in Turkey but then got beaten by Manchester United so this game could make or break their qualification hopes.

Manchester United will travel to Glasgow on Wednesday knowing that a draw would book their passage to the first knockout round. On the other hand the Rangers are just two points behind second placed Valencia so their only chance to stay in the qualification race is to beat Manchester United.

Arch rivals Celtic and Rangers will meet on Wednesday in the replay of the Scottish Cup fifth round as the first cup meeting between the two ended 2-2. However, the two rivals also met in the league and that time Celtic won the game 3-0.

Rangers held firm in the first leg and left Holland with a 0-0 draw but they will have to do more in the second leg if they want to make it through. PSV were held to a 2-2 away draw at NEC in the latest league game while Rangers beat Kilmarnock 2-1 at home.
