Well, the selection has been made. England squad is finally reduced to 23 after Capello has eliminated seven players. Some were expected while others were not. Whose elimination caught you by surprise.

The USA squad is heading to Princeton, New Jersey, for a final training camp before coach Bob Bradley has to cut his 30-man preliminary squad down to the final 23. The key question mark surrounds the fitness of Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu, who has not played since October. Up front Hull's Jozy Altidore is guaranteed to make the final cut, with MLS top-scorer Edson Buddle, Mexico-based Herculez Gomez, Charlie Davies, Robbie Findley, Brian Ching and Eddie Johnson fighting it out for the remaining spots.

Juventus defender Fabio Grosso and Udinese midfielder Antonio Candreva have been cut from the Italy squad for the World Cup as coach Marcello Lippi reduced his 30-man provisional group to 28. Grosso was a pivotal player for Italy four years ago, scoring the decisive first goal against Germany in the semi-final and then the winning spot-kick in the penalty shootout against France in the final.
