Unbelievable, it was more difficult to miss from there than to score!
Poor lad... I've seen worse misses though...
It all happened during an international game between Uzbekistan and Qatar and the man responsible for the miss is called Khalfan Fahad, an 18-year old striker. The game was played at the 2010 Asian Games and Qatar were eliminated from the competition following that huge miss.
The goal was scored by Andy Rogers during a Scottish second division game between Ayr United and Sunnybank. The game ended 5-0 and that was the fifth goal of the match.
It happened in America: Kansas City's striker Kei Kamara himself right in front of an open net but managed to miss the goal from less than six inches with no one near him. Instead of netting the sitter in the middle of the goal Kamara took a wild swing, missed it completely, fell over and knocked the ball in with his arm. Unbelievable!
Francesco Caputo, a player from Italian side Cesena, scores and then celebrates by punching the teammate who played the decisive pass! The victim's name is Emanuel Rivas but he got credited with the assist though :)
Those players should get fired, you can't miss from there!
This incredible miss was recorded in the Greek league, in a game between Veria and Levadeiakos: the ball hit the woodwork three times before one of the strikers blazed it over the bar to kill off the tension.
