England manager, Fabio Capello, sat in the stands to watch Becks play in his first European game of the season. Beckham moved back to Milan to prove himself worthy of the England squad for the 2010 world cup.

in a Q&A with coach Fabio Capello, he referred to his task as akin to being a "Ghostbuster". "I have tried to stay detached from this 'not having won in 44 years' idea,'' he told Eurosport's Eurogoals One-to-One show. "When I first got here we had this Croatian ghost. I hope the same thing happens with the ghost of 66... I like the Ghostbusters idea. Let's go with that because I want to take this team as far as possible.''

England are out of the World Cup after getting beaten 4-1 by Germany in the first knockout round. Capello said that the team played well against the USA, badly against Algeria, then well again against Slovenia and that the game against Germany was decided by the referees bad decision on Lampard's goal off the crossbar. What do you think, should Fabio Capello resign?

Heartbreak for Beckham as an injury in Milan's 1-0 win over Chievo Verona was dampned with the news that David Beckham will not feature in England's 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The question is though, will England as a team perform or will the reel in the absence of the veteran winger?

Keeping in mind the instructions issued by Fabio Capello, Manchester City has speedily started the bid on James Milner at 24 million pound. Chelsea is expected to file a bid at par with the Manchester City.

Bobby Zamora scored the winning goal for Fulham tonight in their Europa League quarter-final tie with Wolfsburg, and what a goal it was. There is no doubt Zamora is in a rich vein of form but does he deserve to be included in Fabio Capello's England World Cup squad? Vote now!

The 33-year-old Bolton forward has been preferred by Capello to Newcastle youngster Andy Carroll for the next Euro 2012 qualifying game against Montenegro while the likes of Agbonlahor or Defoe are injured. Kevin Davies could well make his debut for England at the age of 33.

Michael Owen scored for Manchester United today as Sir Alex Ferguson's men beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Wembley to win the Carling Cup for the second year running. Much has been said about Michael Owen's chances of making it into Fabio Capello's World Cup squad, with the player admitting himself, he thinks it's unlikely he will be on the plane to South Africa.
