Republic of Ireland will meet Macedonia on Saturday in a very important match for the group B table. Ireland are in second place on 7 points after a 1-1 draw in Slovakia while Macedonia are three points behind after being beaten 1-0 at home by Russia.

England beat Switzerland 3-1 in Basel to maintain their 100% record in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Wayne Rooney scored the opening goal while substitutes Adam Johnson and Darren Bent added another couple to make sure of the win.

Wales will meet England in group G on Saturday in a game that could have a big impact on the group table. England are in second place after two wins and a draw, three points behind leaders Montenegro but with a game in hand. On the other hand Wales suffered three straight losses and they will surely be looking to redeem themselves with a good result against England.

England will kick off their Euro 2012 qualification campaign at home to Bulgaria on Friday September 3. The draw, conducted today in Tel Aviv, suits England as they have avoided June matches in Bulgaria and Montenegro where the heat could have proved a problem.

Northern Ireland will meet Slovenia tomorrow in a very important match in group C. Both teams got beaten last week, Slovenia 1-0 at home by Italy and Northern Ireland 2-1 away by Serbia. However, both teams still are in the qualifying race as Slovenia are in second place on 7 points and Northern Ireland in 4th place with 5 points but with a game in hand.

Euro 2008 winner Marcos Senna has been left out of Spain's final 23-man squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. the team boss has cited poor performance by the Brazilian-born midfielder while he played for Villarreal in the Primera Liga this season.

Former World Champions Italy will play away in Northern Ireland on Friday following two consecutive wins in the first group matches, 2-1 in Estonia and 5-0 at home over the Faroe Islands. Northern Ireland have played only one game in the group until now and they got a very good result, a 1-0 away win in Slovenia.

World Champions Spain will travel to Lithuania tomorrow in an attempt to extend their 100 percent record in Group I. Spain have won three out of three until now but Lithuania are still in the race for a spot at the Euro 2012 since they got four points out of the opening three games.
