Portugal's World Cup preparations got off to a miserable start as they were remarkably held to a goalless draw at home to African minnows Cape Verde. Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz selected a full-strength starting line-up with the likes of Ricardo Carvalho, Miguel Veloso, Nani, Deco, Liedson and Cristiano Ronaldo all named.

Both teams knew they would qualify with a tie, and once the other game, between Mali and Malawi seemed over, it looked like the two teams on the pitch were just waiting for the 90 minute whistle.

Argentina said goodbye to their home fans before their World Cup trip with a 5-0 thrashing of Canada. Maxi Rodriguez and Carlos Tevez contributed goals for Argentina's win with a convincing performance despite their rivals' obvious weakness.

Carlos Tevez caused some controversy when he snubbed Manchester United for their bitter rivals Manchester City in a big money move. Ferguson still says Tevez is welcome at Old Trafford, any chance he could return to the Red Devils?

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has given Carlos Tevez the option to leave the club if he's not happy. In recent weeks, Tevez has complained publicly about the manager's double training sessions and now the Italian has had enough. Should Tevez be shown the door or should Mancini change his tactics?

Carlos Tevez submitted a written transfer request that the club swiftly rejected and stated that Tevez had another three years and a half of his contract with Manchester City. Reports claim that Tevez is missing his two daughters that are living in Argentina and that is why he wants to leave. But he also seems to have some unresolved issues with the club's hierarchy...
