League leaders Manchester United will be traveling to Birmingham on Tuesday in an attempt to grab another win and consolidate their leadership. United beat Sunderland 2-0 in the Boxing Day fixture while Birmingham might have a slight fitness advantage since their game at Everton was postponed.

After winning the Carling Cup Birmingham City will be trying to achieve a similar feat in the FA Cup but first they will have to get past Bolton in the quarter final on Saturday. Birmingham got a good 1-1 draw in the Premier League last week while Bolton beat Aston Villa 3-2.

Nah, the referee made the right decision.

Birmingham City snatched a point last night against Manchester United thanks to a late goal from Lee Bowyer. Sir Alex Ferguson claims that is should have been ruled out since Zigic committed a foul that led to the goal. Watch the video and have your say!

Third placed Manchester City will travel to meet 17th placed Birmingham City on Wednesday. The Citizens lost their last league game, 1-0 at Aston Villa, while Birmingham got battered 5-0 at Old Trafford. Both teams will look to recover from those latest results and both desperately need the three points.

Another Birmingham derby will take place on Wednesday but this time it will be in the Carling Cup quarter finals. The last derby was played a few weeks ago in the Premier League and it ended with a disappointing goalless draw.

The semi-finals will see Arsenal facing Championship side Ipswich and West Ham taking on Birmingham City.These will be two-legged contests with the first leg being played around the 10th of January and the second leg around the 24th of January.

Birmingham have performed well above any of the pundits expectations this season and still harbour a hope for a European Football in their first season in the Premier League. It all comes back to a sturdy defence and Roger Johnson arriving from Cardiff City for £5m has helped, perhaps their wisest move of the transfer market?

Birmingham and Arsenal will meet on Saturday in the Blues' second consecutive big home fixture. The last game saw Birmingham snatching a point against Manchester United and the Blues are just above the drop zone in 17th place. Arsenal were held to a draw at Wigan yesterday despite leading 2-1 and having a numerical advantage but the Gunners remain in third spot, just two points behind Manchester United and Manchester City.

With the Premier League season nearing it's conclusion, Joe Hart's season-long loan deal at Birmingham is also coming to an end. The English goalkeeper has spent all this season on loan at St. Andrews from Manchester City, however there has been much speculation as to who Hart will be playing for next season.
