A classic derby will be played at San Siro on Saturday, AC Milan versus Juventus. Milan grabbed the very important three points last week away at Napoli while Juventus were held to a stalemate at struggling Bologna. Milan are in second position with 17 points while Juve are lying 5th with 12 points out of eight games.
The Italian Serie A will have a cracking derby on Saturday, Juventus vs Roma. Both sides have been in pretty good form lately: Juventus are 5th after being held to a draw at Brescia in midweek but they won at AC Milan a fortnight ago while Roma have won the derby against Lazio last week and also beat Fiorentina 3-2 on Wednesday. After a poor start to the season Roma found their feet and moved up the table in sixth place.
Fierce rivals Juventus and Fiorentina will clash on Saturday but the two teams are in quite different states of mind. Juventus are six points behind leaders AC Milan so they would be keen to get a win and stay in the title race while Fiorentina are lying in 13th place after a very poor start to the season.
The Serie A strike has been called off so the weekend games will go on as planned. The biggest one will be on Sunday between 3rd place Juventus and 2nd place Lazio, a battle which will tell who has the strength to stay in pursuit of leaders AC Milan.
In-form Udinese will meet Juventus on Sunday in Turin, a tough match for the home side considering that Udinese have just beaten defending champions Inter 3-1. Juventus recorded a goalless draw against Sampdoria last week and they slid down into sixth place while Udinese climbed up into 8th after recovering from a slow start to the season.
Seventh placed Juventus will travel to Sicily on Wednesday to meet 8th placed Palermo, a team that lost on Sunday at Inter Milan after leading 2-0! Juventus are coming from a painful home defeat at the hands of Udinese so Del Piero and company will be looking to turn things around and return to winning ways sooner rather than later.
Defending champions Inter Milan will travel to Turin on Sunday to meet struggling 8th placed Juventus, a team that is trying to find form again after a troubled start of the year. Juventus seem to be getting back on track though after beating Cagliari 3-1 last week while Inter grabbed a spectacular 5-3 home win against Roma. Juventus find themselves 11 points behind leaders AC Milan but Inter have a much better shot at the title since they are just five points adrift.
