Vote for: Capello calls time on Beckham saying that he is too old to be part of his future plans. Do you agree?
england | Aug 12th, 2010 | by JohnnyKarp

| Good call, leave room for the youngsters. |

| That's a mistake, Beckham's experience could still be useful. |
Here is what Capello said about Beckham's future in the England squad: "I say thank you very much for helping me at the World Cup but probably he is a little bit old. I hope when David is okay he can play his last game here at Wembley in a friendly to say goodbye and thank you very much to the crowd. I won't be picking him for any more competitive matches. David is a fantastic player, he was really important, but we have to see the new players for the future because the age is important for a lot of people, not only for David."

Vote for: Will David Beckham be recalled to the England squad?
england | Sep 10th, 2010 | by JohnnyKarp
An few weeks ago Fabio Capello said that he will not call up 35-year-old David Beckham again. Now the midfielder says that the door is still open for him: "Obviously it was a surprise at the time but I spoke to him shortly after that and he explained everything to me and it was brushed under the carpet, so to speak. I've always had a good relationship with Fabio and that's not changed. Things get said, things get taken out of proportion and turned around but at the end of the day the manager's got a job to do and he's doing it well and the lads are repaying that. Like I said, I've always supported him as a manager and the staff he's got down there, and he's always supported me."
