New Juventus coach Alberto Zaccheroni had to patiently wait three matches for his team to bring home a win, but it was a wait worth while. It was an exciting 3-2 win over Genoa, with two goals from Alessandro Del Piero that brought his team back to life.

Today's failure to win at Blackburn leaves Manchester United a point behind Chelsea at the top of the Premier League, however the Blues now have a game in hand on Sir Alex Ferguson's men and with games fast running out, many, including myself now feel United are out of the title race. Following Alex Ferguson's statements about him Wayne Rooney explained his reasons for deciding to leave the club: "I met with David Gill last week and he did not give me any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad. I then told him that I would not be signing a new contract. My agent and I have had a number of meetings with the club about a new contract. During those meetings in August I asked for assurances about the continued ability of the club to attract the top players in the world."
