The 26 year old Manchester City striker made a radical decision, he will no longer play for his national team. Here's what he said about it: "Following the tragic events during January's African Cup of Nations, in which two of my fellow countrymen were killed by terrorists in Angola, I have made the very difficult decision to retire from international football. I have weighed up my feelings in the weeks and months since the attack and I am still haunted by the events which I witnessed on that horrible afternoon on the Togo team bus."

The Togolese striker stated that he is frustrated by the lack of first team football this season and that he wants to move away from Manchester City with Juventus being the most likely destination. The club is reportedly open to receive offers for the striker but denied having reached an agreement with Juventus.

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor will join Real Madrid for the rest of the season on a loan deal but the Spanish club will have the option to buy the player at the end of the loan spell. Adebayor scored 19 goals in 36 league and cup starts for the Blues after being signed from Arsenal by previous manager Mark Hughes. Last season he scored 14 goals in 26 Premier League appearances but this time round he has managed just one in eight league matches.
