The national team of England has always been known for having obsessive fans who are liable to start riots and fights if they are unhappy or their team loses. Soccer is a big deal in England and with the advent of the English Leagues, English soccer fans are able to follow more action outside of the world cup. The Premier league’s Manchester United club has developed a legion of followers. Manchester United has won the most championships with an impressive eleven trophies and their fans are not afraid to show off their team spirit.



Spain is on top of the list right now for having the best soccer fans after their impressive World Cup victory this year. Real Madrid is a professional soccer team in Spain which is now more popular and recognized than ever before. Real Madrid has gained fans by winning 9 UEFA championships. The LA Galaxy fans might be trying to increase soccer’s popularity in the United States with the acquisition of David Beckham, but they have a long way to go in order to match the intensity of die hard fans of the European and Spanish nations.



International legendary soccer superstars definitely help football teams gain more fans. After Diego Maradona won the World Cup in 1986, Argentina became much more popular everywhere. South American soccer fans, including Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and other teams, may greatly outnumber any other group and they are continuously growing. One can also not forget the teams in Africa in places like Cameroon and Nigeria who are always contenders for a world cup title.
