The 2010 World Cup has been one of the best World Cup's by far. There have been a lot of controversial moments as well as great moments. Some of the best moments of the 2010 world cup was when FIFA put on the concert that included performances from Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas, and Shakira at the Orlando Stadium located in Soweto, Johannesburg.

USA’s comeback against Slovenia was one of the best moments in the 2010 World Cup as well, the US was down by 2-0 in the second half against the Slovenia team and seemed that Team USA would probably make an exit from the 2010 World Cup. But brilliant second-half play by the USA, which included the two goals that were made by Landon Donovan and Michael Bradley, tied the match with only about nine minutes left remaining. Despite Maurice Edu’s goal being waved off by an official that I feel was the most controversial call of any sport tournament ever, that tie with the Slovenia team still kept our Team USA’s championship hopes alive and well. Some people cheered, other people cried in sorrow.

Another 2010 World Cup match that stands out in my mind is between the New Zealand team and Italy’s team. Italy, who everyone knows is currently the reigning world champion, boasts a roster with some of the world’s greatest players. Until just this last week, the New Zealand team had never even began to score a single point in the World Cup. Everyone was surprised and some were upset, some were so happy they were in tears, but when that final whistle sounded off, it was determined that the Kiwis had pulled off what is probably the absolutely biggest soccer upset ever to have happened in New Zealand’s soccer or world cup history.
