Diego Maradona has today claimed that Argentina can lift the World Cup in South Africa this summer. Following last night's 1-0 victory in Germany, Maradona had this to say : "What we showed is that we have a team who can become world champions for the first time after 24 years."

Skill, determination, great pride, respect and commitment of the players, individually adn, moreover, as a team. Once in sync, there is no better exhibition of a lucid, intelligent, poised execution of what in theory a national team can ever aspire to accomplish than Argentina firing on all cylinders.
It is a shame that such great group of stars has not been put together in a way that they all play well as a team. Without being a team, they will see many frustrations and get stranded half way. If Maradona can get a semi decent team out of them, they have as many chances as Spain and Brazil.

I personally think they'll get to the semi's and then get knocked out!
