Premier League, Chelsea got beaten at home by Sunderland: was that because of Ray Wilkins' departure?

| Ray Wilkins' departure surely had an impact. |

| They were playing poorly for some time now, with or without Wilkins. |
Assistant manager Ray Wilkins left the club last week because he was not offered an extension to his expiring contract and the next weekend Chelsea got hammered 3-0 at Stamford Bridge by Sunderland. Manager Carlo Ancelotti said that Wilkins has nothing to do with that, the team just played poorly for a reason that he can not point out.

Letting a man like Wilkins leave the club like that is strange to say the least, something might be happening behind the scenes there.
